Khalil Softa is an accomplished Medical Laboratory Senior Specialist with over 19 years of experience in clinical laboratory sciences and procurement management.
Holding a master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, a diploma in Procurement, and certified as a Health Care Supply Chain Manager with a mini-MBA Executive Certification from the London School of Business, Khalil has built a robust career marked by excellence in laboratory operations, strategic procurement, and leadership within the healthcare sector.
Currently serving as the Medical Laboratory Category Manager at the National Unified Procurement Co. (NUPCO) in Riyadh, Khalil leads procurement activities related to medical laboratories, managing tenders, designing the supply chain for lab supplies and services with different procurement and contract strategies (GPPRR, reagent deal, framework agreements), and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Prior to this role, Khalil spent 15 years at PSMMC Central Laboratory, where he held the position of Chief of Medical Laboratory Scientific Officers (CMLSO).
In this capacity, Khalil was responsible for overseeing the Clinical Chemistry Division, supervising the Total Lab Automation (TLA), training laboratory staff, and ensuring the accuracy, quality, and reliability of lab results.
Recognized for meticulous attention to detail and a strong ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, Khalil has a reputation for high-quality outputs and timely completion of laboratory assays.
A certified CBAHI Surveyor and CAP Inspector, contributing to advancements in laboratory practices.
Excellent in speaking both English and Arabic, and possessing strong technical skills in laboratory IT systems, Khalil excels in fast-paced environments and fosters collaborative relationships with colleagues, the medical laboratory market, and stakeholders.
